Requirements to enter pets

REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER PETS INTO ARGENTINA

 

In order for a pet to be allowed into Argentina, a U.S. Interstate Certificate of good health examination (APHIS Form 7001) must be completed. This form is available from your local licensed vet or directly from the offices of the U.S.D.A.  

This health certificate must include anti rabies vaccinations, required for any cat or dog of at least three months old.  Vaccination must have been given at least 30 days prior to arrival to Argentina and this certificate may not be more than one year old.

The animal health form must include the following information: 

-Name and last name and home address of the pet’s owner.-

-Identifying pet information: breed, sex, size, color, weight. 

-Country of origin and final destination.

-Certificate must include information certifying that animal has been examined within the ten days previous to the travel date and that it is free of clinical signs of diseases.
Consular legalization is not needed.

Quarantine: Animals that meet the criteria will not be kept in quarantine. If local authorities suspect or detect the presence of infectious contagious diseases, they will proceed to proper isolate to limit exposure.
